Daniel Palmieri has been with the New York City Department of Correction since August 17, 1992. He is a twenty-one year veteran, who first served as a civilian assigned to the barge Maritime Facility III (MTF3), now known as the Vernon C. Bain Center (VCBC) and the Bronx House of Detention for Men (BXHDM).
Palmieri served as a Correction Officer since his date of appointment on July 1st, 1996. He has worked in various facilities, such as the George R. Vierno Center (GRVC), Bronx Detention Complex (BXDC) and Special Operations Division (SOD). During his tenure with the Department of Correction, Palmieri has become incredibly knowledgeable about the department, and he maintains a verifiably excellent performance record. Palmieri is the recipient of several accolades of appreciation and was bestowed the medal of “Excellent Duty,” which was awarded for his outstanding performance and achievement while on duty.
In 2004, Palmieri was appointed “Rapid Response Delegate” by the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association. Duties included responding to over a thousand calls citywide for on and off duty incidents involving members of service.
Daniel Palmieri was recently appointed to the COBA Executive Board as the Bronx Borough Trustee. As Bronx Borough Trustee, Palmieri intends to bring that same dedication and hard work daily representing the boldest men and women of this agency in an exemplary way.
